Company 🎰

MrQ is one of the UK’s fastest-growing casinos. The primary aim of this casino is to give players what they want, no-nonsense entertainment with a focus on fairness. Zero wagering requirements, all winnings paid in cash, fast withdrawals.

Project Overview 🧐

When I joined MrQ, one of the biggest challenges I faced was the account page. It was overwhelming and difficult to navigate. The goal was to simplify the account page, making it more user-friendly and removing unnecessary clutter.

Project Objectives ✏️

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of the entire account experience to identify areas of dissatisfaction or frustration

  • Create a more user-friendly account page

  • Ensure the new account page aligns with our product vision

  • Improve the discoverability of responsible gaming tools for users

  • Create a scalable account page for different markets

Role πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’»

I was the sole designer working on this project, collaborating with other designers as needed for feedback sessions. Being the only designer required me to be involved in every aspect of the project, working with different stakeholders to ensure we meet all our objectives and meet deadlines.

Research πŸ”Ž

In this project, the most valuable research was focused on thoroughly understanding the flows within the account page. Although I did analyse competitors within the iGaming industry and other industries, I realised that it was crucial to gain a deep understanding of our own account page and create a comprehensive map of it. In addition to mapping out our current setup, I also considered how the account page could be scaled for different markets in the future.

Mapping

Findings πŸ“œ

The main issue with most account pages is that they serve as a repository for everything unrelated to games. This becomes problematic because finding what you actually need can be frustrating, especially if it pertains to Responsible Gaming (RG). Our goal is to provide quick access to these tools, which we achieved by organising the account page into sectionsβ€”a feature that was previously lacking. In addition to the sectioning, we also introduced new tools and updated older components that required some attention.

Learnings πŸ“š

The account page initially appeared to be straightforward, but as I explored different flows and entry points, I realised its complexity. It taught me how to delve deeper into a problem. Effective communication with stakeholders was crucial because the account page impacted everyone in the business. Since each stakeholder valued different aspects of the product, ensuring alignment on a solution was key to successfully completing the project.
